WhatsApp Template Message

WhatsApp Message Templates provide a standardized and approved way for businesses to engage with customers on WhatsApp. They offer a structured and efficient way to send notifications, promotions, reminders, and authentication messages.


⚠️ Important Notes Before You Submit

  • Please submit template messages that are relevant to your business.
    Do not submit random or unrelated content.

  • If you are planning a campaign, submit your template at least 1 day before your campaign launch.
    Template approvals may take time depending on Meta’s review process.


How to Create a New WhatsApp Template Message in WhautoChat

Step 1: Navigate to WA Templates

  1. Log in to the WhautoChat app
  2. Go to the WA Templates menu section

Step 2: Add a New Template

  • Click the + Add Template button (top right corner)

Step 3: Enter Template Message Details

Fill in the required information carefully:


🔹 Template Name

  • Enter a name for your reference
  • Example: abc_business_welcome
  • Use lowercase and underscores (recommended)

🔹 Category

Choose the appropriate category:

  • Utility – Transactional updates (orders, invoices, reminders)
  • Marketing – Promotions, offers, announcements
  • Authentication – OTP and verification codes

Example:
If your content is promotional, select Marketing.

🔹 Type of Marketing Message

Choose one of the following:

  1. Custom Message
  2. Catalog Message
  3. Carousel Message

Example: Select Custom Message for a standard promotional message.


🔹 Supported Language

  • Choose your template language
  • Example: English

🔹 Header Type (Optional)

You can choose:

  • Text
  • Image
  • Video
  • Document
  • Location

Example:
If you choose Image, upload a relevant brand image or welcome banner.

⚠️ Important: If using media (Image/Video/Document), attach content relevant to your message. Meta will review and approve it.


🔹 Body (Main Content)

This is where you enter your main message content.

Example:

🎉 Welcome to ABC Business! 🎉

Hello {{1}},

👋 Thank you for choosing to join us! Get ready to discover exciting new collections, receive exclusive announcements, access promotional offers, and much more! We're thrilled to have you as part of our community.

Let's embark on this shopping journey together! 🛍️


🔹 Using Variables (Personalization)

You can add variables to personalize messages.

Example:

  • {{1}} can represent the customer’s name.

If you use variables, you must provide a Sample Value. Example:

  • Variable 1 sample value: John Doe

When sending campaigns in WhautoChat, you can use personalization variables like: {{contact.name}} WhautoChat will automatically replace it with the contact’s actual name.


If you are submitting a Marketing template, add: Reply 'STOP' to unsubscribe from our updates.

Important:

  • When a contact sends STOP, they are automatically moved to the suppression list.
  • Future campaign messages will not be sent to them.
  • Please ensure you install the Marketing Opt-Out Automation before running campaigns to avoid spam reports.

🔹 Add Buttons (Optional)

You can add:

  • Visit Website
  • Phone Number
  • Quick Reply
  • Complete Flow

Step 4: Save Template

  • Once all information is completed, click the Save button.

⏳ Template Approval Process

  • After saving, your template will be submitted to Meta for approval.
  • Only approved templates can be used for campaigns.
  • You will be able to send the template once it is approved.

🔄 Refresh Template Status

Sometimes the template status may not update automatically.

  • Click the Refresh Templates button to check the latest approval status.

✅ You're Ready!

Once your template is approved, you can proceed with sending campaigns or automated messages. If you face any issues, please contact the WhautoChat support team.
