Contacts Management

Contacts help you organize and manage conversations with your customers. In WhautoChat, you can add contacts individually, import them in bulk, delete contacts, and block unwanted contacts.

This guide explains how to manage contacts step by step.

1. How to Add a New Contact​

Follow these steps to create a new contact in WhautoChat.

Step 1: Open the WhautoChat app and click the Contacts menu option to continue.

Step 2: Click the + New Contact button.

Step 3: Enter the contact name and phone number with the country code, then click the Save button.

Example:

  • Name: John Doe
  • Phone Number: +919876543210

Step 4: Once the contact is created, click the Message icon to quickly start a conversation from the Team Inbox chat section.

2. How to Bulk Import Contacts​

Bulk import allows you to add many contacts at once using a file.

Step 1: Go to the Contacts menu.

Step 2: Click the Bulk Import button.

Step 3: Click the Download Sample File button to download the sample file.

Step 4: Update the file with your contact details using the required format.

Required fields include:

  • Name
  • Country Code
  • Phone Number

Step 5: After updating the file, click Choose File and select the updated contact file.

Step 6: Click the Import button.

Step 7: Click the Confirm button to complete the bulk import process.

3. How to Delete a Contact​

Follow these steps to remove a contact from WhautoChat.

Step 1: Go to the Contacts menu.

Step 2: Find the contact you want to delete.

Step 3: Click the More Actions button.

Step 4: Select the Delete Contact option.

Step 5: Click the Confirm button to delete the contact.

4. How to Bulk Delete Contacts​

Bulk delete helps you remove multiple contacts at the same time.

Step 1: Go to the Contacts menu.

Step 2: Use the checkboxes to select the contacts you want to delete. You can also use the Bulk Selection option.

Step 3: Click Actions and select Delete Selected Contacts.

Step 4: Click the Confirm button to delete the selected contacts.

5. How to Block a Contact​

You can block unwanted contacts such as marketing or spam numbers in WhautoChat.

Step 1: Open the contact and click the More Actions icon.

Step 2: Select the Edit Contact option.

Step 3: Enable the Block Contact option.

Step 4: Click the Save button to block the contact.

Once blocked, the contact will no longer appear in your active conversations.
