TikTok

Connect your TikTok Business account to WhautoChat through TikTok Business Messaging. You can then send and receive TikTok direct messages in your Team Inbox, alongside WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram and LiveChat.

Beta

The TikTok integration is in Beta. Its card on the Integrations page shows a Beta badge. If you do not see the TikTok card, email [email protected].

Before you begin​

Make sure the following are in place before you connect:

  • A TikTok Business account
    • WhautoChat connects to a TikTok Business account. You sign in with this account during setup.
  • A supported region
    • TikTok messaging is available for Business Accounts worldwide, except those signed up in the United States, the European Economic Area, Switzerland and the UK.
  • Direct messages turned on for everyone
    • In the TikTok app, set your Business Account to accept direct messages from everyone.
    • If you skip this step, TikTok treats new messages as message requests. WhautoChat only receives them after you accept each request manually in the TikTok app.

Steps to connect TikTok​

  1. Log in to WhautoChat

    • Go to the WhautoChat app and log in with your credentials.

  2. Open Integrations

    • In the sidebar, click Integrations.
    • Find the TikTok card (it shows the Beta badge and the status Available) and click Connect.

  3. Review the TikTok Configuration page

    • The TikTok Configuration page shows the Regional Availability and Turn On Direct Messages Before Connecting notes. Check that your account meets both.

  4. Click Connect with TikTok

    • Under Connect TikTok Business Account, click Connect with TikTok.
    • You are taken to TikTok to sign in.

  5. Sign in and authorize WhautoChat

    • Sign in with your TikTok Business account and approve the access WhautoChat requests.

  6. Wait for the connection to finish

    • TikTok sends you back to WhautoChat. You see Connecting TikTok Account while the connection completes.
    • When it succeeds, you see TikTok Account Connected.
    • Click Go To TikTok Settings to return to the TikTok Configuration page.

  7. Check the connected account

    • Under Connected TikTok Business Account, you see your Business Account Name and Business Account ID.
    • On the Integrations page, the TikTok card now shows Connected, and its button changes to Edit Setup.

You're done!

Your TikTok Business account is now connected to WhautoChat. Send a direct message to your TikTok account from another TikTok account to confirm that it arrives in your Team Inbox.

If you see Error Connecting TikTok Account instead, click Go To TikTok Settings and try again. If it keeps failing, contact support.

What happens after you connect​

  • Messages arrive in your Team Inbox

    • When someone sends a direct message to your TikTok Business account, a TikTok contact is created and the conversation appears in your Team Inbox.
    • Incoming text, images, videos, stickers and emoji are shown in the conversation. When someone shares a TikTok post, you see "shared a TikTok post" with a View Post link.

  • The customer starts the conversation

    • A TikTok contact exists in WhautoChat only after that person messages your TikTok account. You cannot start a new TikTok conversation from WhautoChat.

  • 48 hour reply window

    • TikTok allows businesses to reply for 48 hours after the person's last message. Each new message from the person opens a new 48 hour window.

  • What you can send

    • You can send text and images. Video, audio and document attachments are not supported for TikTok replies.

Send TikTok messages with the REST API​

You can also send TikTok messages from your own systems with the WhautoChat REST API, including text messages, images and Q&A cards. See Messages API for the TikTok endpoints.

Disconnect TikTok​

  1. In the sidebar, click Integrations, then click Edit Setup on the TikTok card.
  2. Click Disconnect TikTok.
  3. Read the warning, type CONFIRM in the box, and click Yes, Disconnect.

After you disconnect, the TikTok Business account connection is removed from WhautoChat, and you can no longer send or receive TikTok messages through WhautoChat. To reconnect, follow the steps above again.
